Eric Linn Hopson was born November 17, 1970, to Roger Lee and Lelia Mae Hopson in Poplar Bluff, MO.
He began his education in the Poplar Bluff School District and graduated from the Job Corps with a culinary certificate.
Eric Hopson and Melinda Hughey were joined in Holy Matrimony on September 9, 2017. She remained a faithful and dedicated companion until his passing.
He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior under the leadership of the late Reverend Frank Earl, at New Light Missionary Baptist Church.
Eric had a passion for movies, cooking, and shooting pool. His favorite artist was singer and musician, Prince.
Service is an important part of being a Christian. The Bible teaches us that helping others is a way to show love and kindness, and that it brings us closer to God. Eric grew in his faith and served graciously in the dining hall of Loving Jesus Ministries in Poplar Bluff until his health declined and he was no longer able.
Eric transitioned on May 9, 2025, at 10:51 a.m.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Hopson.
He leaves to treasure fond memories; his loving wife, Melinda; children, Issac Hopson of Poplar Bluff, MO., Aaliyah Galbraith of Orlando, FL., Jordan Hopson and Bryan Hopson of Jonesboro, AR., Sarah, Aaron, Josh, and Hanna of Poplar Bluff, MO., grandchildren, Kaylese Noel, Josyah Noel, Jeremial Noel, and Nami-Marie Noel of Orlando, FL., mother Lelia Mae Hopson of Poplar Bluff, MO., siblings, Leroy Touche Nunn of Fayetteville, NC., Jo Ann (Donald) Brandon of Poplar Bluff, MO., Edward (Calvina) Alexander of New York, NY., Phillip (Vanessa) Hopson, Kathleen Hopson, and Mary (Bobby) Humpfrey of Poplar Bluff, MO., and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 12 p.m.- 1 p.m. at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 701 Vine St. Poplar Bluff, MO.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor John McCain and Pastor Ralph Jefferson officiating. Burial will take place at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
